I am interested in the molecular underpinnings of diversity in populations and species – how populations adapt, which role the genomic architecture plays, or how gene flow can influence divergence – and I am generally excited about evolutionary aspects, ecology, and conservation biology. Yet, my scientific expertise includes a rather wide collection of biological topics – from developmental biology and neurobiology (which I studied during my master's thesis), to cell biology and the regulation and role of autophagy (my PhD thesis).

Find out more about each of my projects by clicking on the model species in my "CV tree" below. The "outgroup" contains other activities such as workshop organization, teaching, outreach, and volunteer projects.
